The Senate

During the 103rd General Assembly, I served as the Traveling Legislative Representative for Senator Craig Wilcox, representing the communities of McHenry and Lake County in Illinois’ 32nd Senate District. In this role, I operated at the intersection of public policy, communications, and community engagement—effectively acting as a public relations ambassador for both the district office and the State Senate.

I researched legislation and translated complex policy into clear, actionable messaging for constituents, stakeholders, and lobbyists, often serving as a direct point of contact for public inquiries and advocacy efforts. At the same time, I managed the Senator’s daily schedule, coordinating events, meetings, and public engagements to ensure seamless operations across a fast-paced legislative environment.

My work in constituent services focused on delivering tangible outcomes—drafting outreach communications, advocating for grants, and connecting residents with state agencies. This hands-on approach helped strengthen community trust through timely, solutions-oriented support.

On the communications front, I contributed to press materials, messaging frameworks, and internal memos to ensure consistency across all public-facing content. I also supported media relations by preparing talking points and assisting with speechwriting, helping shape the Senator’s voice in public settings.
